Hello School Families! Photo day is fast approaching!
Allow me to introduce myself - I'm Heather, your school photographer. I am truly thrilled for the chance to create beautiful fine art school portraits for your school. It is my sincere goal to deliver an enhanced and boutique photography experience to each and every school family who have entrusted me with capturing their children's special moments.
No money is due on picture day.
You only pay for pictures after an online gallery release. There, you will be able to view your child’s photos and decide if you want to buy prints, canvas, or digitals. Once you are in the gallery, you will find your child’s album by last name. Each child’s gallery will be password protected for privacy, using your child’s DOB.
Sibling photos will occur from 7:40am-8:10am, but are by SIGN-UP ONLY. You must sign-up and BE ON TIME to your time slot. Thank you for understanding!

I would be HONORED if you allowed me to use your little one’s image to advertise my work on my website, blog, and marketing materials! Please know, you have absolutely NO OBLIGATION to do so. However, if you’re ok with it, your child’s image may be used on my website, like the example next to this text.

For picture day questions, please ask your photographer, not the school. This reduces the burden on school staff.
What is a Fine Art School Portrait?
My goal is to provide a personal, professional, and boutique photo experience for students and families of schools who choose Heather Wheaton Photography for their school photos.
Fine Art School Portraits are quite different from what we all remember school pictures used to look like. I will capture your child’s authentic personality in a way that doesn’t feel like a forced smile. No silly props or backgrounds. Just beautiful images you will love for years to come. Each kiddo receives 2-5 images in their gallery, in BOTH color and black & white!
What should my child wear?
Unless your student wears a school uniform, please select a solid color top for your child. Avoid tops with graphics, words, neon, or geometrical patterns. Those types of clothing tend to do weird things when captured with a camera. A nice dress shirt, blouse, or even a solid color tee is perfect. Photos will be taken from the shoulder up. If your child’s school requires a uniform, this makes picture day easy on you! School uniforms photograph well and allow the focus to be on your student.
How does ordering work?
Within two weeks of picture day, you will be sent a link to an online gallery. You will receive 2-5 images, in both color AND black and white. You will be able to select a single pose for a package of prints, and different poses for a la carte prints. I also offer stretched canvas and options to receive digital downloads of your images.
